Thailand Airways (THA) has said it will send 100m passengers home from Thailand in 2019.
In a statement, the airline said that as the number of flights continues to rise, it is taking this step to keep its network viable.
The airline said the number will be around 10m passengers per day by the end of the year.
The plan will also involve reducing the number and size of aircraft in the fleet.THA said it would invest an additional $1.7bn (£1.1bn) to extend its flights, as well as upgrade the service.
The airline has seen an increase in demand in recent years as air travel in the world’s second-largest economy has grown.
However, THA said its new flights will still operate with fewer seats than their predecessor’s.
Thailand’s government has said that more than 20,000 people have been killed in the conflict in neighbouring Myanmar.
